I just received my new Pronto and read so where that you can list all your CD’s in it for selection and play back by pressing one button. Can’t believe it! Does anybody have any idea of how and were in the Pronto you do this? I would appreciate any feed back.

There's a number of utilities in the file area that can aid you in generating CD lists. Or, do it the manual way (a button for everything you want).

Thanks Daniel,I am kind of new with this Pronto and not really sure what you mean by a number of utilities that can aid me in generating a CD list? Could you please explain in a step by step format? What about "ProntoEdit" would that be easier or more convenient?

Werner, you need to understand ProntoEdit first and how to use it. I suggest you read the Pronto FAQ in the files area, and also download the ProntoEdit manual. Then you should be able to understand what others are saying.

Werner,
You can accomplish this without any PC programming two ways:
1) Create Macro buttons and Macro groups on your pronto using the mode button. Each group can be an artist or category, each button a particular cd or track. You will program each button with a recorded list (macro) of the steps necessary to make your cd play that particular cd or track. This assumes that you have a cd "mega-changer" that holds a few hundred cd's.
2)Train your small children to get up at the sound of the beep from the pronto and run to the cd player. They should then politely ask "which cd, daddy", then find it and insert it in your cd player. The beauty of this technique is that no programming of the Pronto is needed at all. It arrives from the factory beeping when you touch it, so all that remains is to explain to your children what is required of them.

I just want to thank Dan, Pete and Eric. I took Pete's advise and downloaded the ProntoEdit manual so I can learn more about this software and the Pronto.I have only had this remote a few days. Eric, I like the second way best! I sure is a lot easyer then programing the Pronto! Thanks again.
