Marantz and code databases..

Now that they are introducing the code database, is there any chance that they'll deliver it to existing Marantz owners given that it's an advertised feature on the box (well, the UK one anyway)

Or are they just going to remain incompetent and annoying on this point as well as all other RC5000 dealings?

The press release IMPLIES that the Pronto has this in the remote, not the firmware. We'll have to see what happens. If it is on the remote, the answer is no. If it's in the firmware, maybe.

Since there's so little available memory left as is, I don't know where they'd be able to put it on a 1mb remote. I think the RC5000 text implies such a database would be on the CD -- in the IRDB section -- not on the remote.
