Daniel (or anyone else who might know) - - is Marantz offering any sort of a trade-in program for owners of RC5000's to the new model?
My understanding is that the only physical difference between the old and new model is the extra 1 mg of memory, and that the new software/firmware will run on both. Is that correct? If so, assuming there are no trade-in deals available, is it possible to upgrade the old unit's memory?
Thanks.

The one I just bought has no light sensor, however, never having seen the old one I can't say it does.

Larry,
The motherboard has changed, the guts would need to be replaced.

Yes, you'd need a new main board. I'm sure something could be priced up that would make it benificial to both parties, but I haven't heard of anything. As for differences, the only thing that's changed on the RC5000i is memory. The new features and re-designed interface are available for both it and the original model.
