I have looked through the "Files" section of this web site and have been thrilled to find and use the IR codes that it contains for my equipment. But being greedy, I am wondering if there might be a more complete set of codes somewhere out there that I can access.

At this point Sony is the best represented brand. What exactly is it you are missing out of the 450 available files?

I know I'd really really really like a discrete PIP off for my KV35-V65 (35" bought about 1.5 years ago).
Unfortunately, the discrete PIP off in the files does not work.

Where are these "450 available files"? The only available IR codes that I know of are those on this web site, under "Files", at [Link: remotecentral.com].

Tony: Not all models support all codes. If that code doesn't work, it's unlikely there's another one available.
Len: Look a bit lower... under component configurations. All those CCF files contain IR codes.

Daniel, what I am really looking for is the IR code for the Sony Stereo Receive STR-DA555ES to turn on and switch to "Phono". That's the one "Switch to Source" that I have been unable to teach the Pronto. Would you know how to find that one?

Tony: I think that question has come up before. I have an old sony that had the PIP on/off. When I use that (old) remote on my new sony (that toggles thru PIP on-large-small-off) it does the same thing as the new remote (toggles thru). Thus, I came to the conclusion there is no discrete on/off PIP possible with the new sony (because my old sony remote with PIP on/off doesn't do the PIP on/off on the new sony). I hope all this makes since.

Taft, the IR code worked! Thank you very much.
Now, having said that, I have come to realize that my REAL problem is that a command assigned to a device in the Device menu has NOT been automatically assigned to the same device on the Home panel. That is, I now know that I was successful in teaching the Pronto (Device Menu) to turn on the receiver and switch to "Phono" (or whatever), but that this command did not get automatically assigned to the button on the Home panel. I see (in the Home Panel System Properties) that there are three conditions required for that to happen. The last one is to that the "HOME panels are write-protected" - box is checked. But if I do that, then I (seemingly) can't modify the Home panel (which I want to). So if you can help with that, please do. If you can't, would you mind, please, sending me the IR code to turn on the receiver and set it to DVD? Thanks very much!!

darn that's the last time I buy the el-cheapo $2000CDN TV. Next time I'll get the $4000CDN full-on XBR (which I assume would have discrete PIP off)!!

Len,
I believe it's best to change the home panel name (i.e. call it "Home")and write protect your home page. You then maintain control and it can then be modified. As far codes on home panel buttons, you can do this in one of 2 ways. Make the button on your home page a macro, "aliased" to the code(s) you want on your device page. The 2nd way is to load an "action(s)" in the properties for the device. These also would be aliased. In the second method these codes would be run each time the device is called.
I prefer the first method, it gives you more control.
Hope this helps,
Jim L

Hmm, this somewhat shorter Phono code works for me:
0000 0067 0000 000d 0060 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 043e
