i have just bought an x10 kit and have discovered i have no
way of programing my pronto for the x10 codes.
i dont have a computer and wondered if there is anybody
out there that could help
.

Without a computer to download them with or another remote to learn the X-10 codes from, there's no way to get them into the remote. If you really can't get ahold of a computer to use, pick up a One For All Cinema 7 from Wal Mart and learn them off of it.

Where are you located? A lot of people have X-10 remotes that you could borrow. They have given them away off and on over the years.
