I have scratched the screen of my Pronto. Does anyone know where I can get it repaired in the UK and what it is likely to cost?

I'm in the U.S. About three months ago, my housekeeper knocked my Pronto off the coffee table. The screen completely cracked.
I spoke to Phillips. They said there are no replacement parts (like the screen) available. The only option was to replace it. They said it was out of warranty (one year), so I would have to buy a new one. The only help they gave, was that since it really should have survived the fall, they would give me a discount (I think a price fo $299.00US) if I sent them the broken one.
It was very frustrating. But I ended up buying a new one.

Yes, out of warranty they have no responsibility to provide discounts... if you break it accidentally (but it's your fault) while in warranty, the standard price is $150.

Are there other alternatives? Who produces the screen for the Pronto?. I have never had a Pronto apart, but would it be possible to order a replacement screen from the actual manufacturer, and install it ourselves? If it is on a plug or soldered in, some of the more tech savvy people here could possibly do this...

After owning my new silver pronto for several months and finally getting the programming just right, I was placing it on the charger, it slid off, hit the floor and cracked the screen. The best Phillips could do is give me the main contact number in the Netherlands (0800-023-2013). I haven't called them to find out about replacement policy yet. I wondered if anyone has found a Euporean contact for getting them replaced and if so, what the process and cost is.

I know the original "good" screen (although it wasn't considered "good" at the time) is a Samsung. I have no idea who makes the "new" screen.
