Stopping Macros during execution

I have seen several threads reffering to terminating macros, particulary macros that have long DELAYs in them, during their execution. In particular, I have heard that the hard Right button will have a STOP label appear during macro execution, and this button will terminate the macro. I have been totally unable to duplicate this is anyway, on the Pronto itself or in Pronto Edit. I am running V4.8 firmware, with Pronto edit 1.04.

I'd like to get this to work (I have an application that will have a delay of several minutes after a button press before an IR command is sent, but the choice to terminate the operation before that).

So, I am trying to understand why my system doesn't act the way I've seen from other threads, and what I need to do to get this function.

Here are my questions to people who've done this:
-Can you duplicate this behavoir on Pronto Edit emulation, or does it only work on the Pronto itself?
(This will let me know if I can test my changes on Pronto Edit initially).

-What Version of firmware/Pronto Edit are you using?
(i.e., will I have to upgrade?)

-Is there an existing CCF that exists that has this functionality that I can test and maybe explore what makes it work?

-Are there any other considerations to get this to work?

-Any other advice.

Thanks,
Larry

You'll only get the STOP button if you're on the MACRO side of the remote. If on HOME or DEVICE, you can cancel the macro by pressing the same button again.

Danilel, that's it! It works perfectly, at least on the emulator. And it's so simple!

Thanks!

Larry

P.S. My application was sending an inert IR command every 15minutes (a little less in fact) to prevent my screensaver from kicking in on my Dishplayer when I'm on a music channel. I just needed something that did this for, let's say 3 hours to keep song titles on-screen, but a simple way to cancel out of the operation if I wanted to use the remote. I will continue to use the DEVICE side (which I had been using), but change the button icon when active to make it obvious to press it if you want to use the remote again. Great..no more Microsoft Web-TV advertisements floating around while listening to satellite music!

Well Larry I bet you are one happy bunny right now. Your problem is sorted. Just remember that you can send in a kind token of thanks if you like... a Four figured sum should do it!

Larry -- I see why you would want that. To be honest, I had to experiment to see exactly what would stop a macro. But that should work just fine, since the emulator is a direct representation (functionally) of the real remote.
