Hello all. Does anyone know if manipulation of the bass and treble settings on a sony STR series receiver/amp would be manipulable (is that a word!?) thru the remote control keys? My remote has a eq-tone key but that does not seem to do anything. The only EQ I can do from the couch is the bass boost. I've tried a bunch of ccf files from various sony receivers but have come up dry. Is this even possible via remote with my receiver? Any help would (as always) be appreciated. Thanks!

Your model might not be high enough up for EQ or Tone controls. If you can, check the description in the manual... if it has that feature, it'll tell you how to use it.

Thanks Daniel. I have manual eq buttons on the receiver labelled bass and treble + and - , but nothing on the remote activates them.....I was hoping that they included them in the reciever but perhaps they were not on the remote...The manual says nothing. Anyone else have experience with this model? Specifically it's the STR-DE345...

That SHOULD work with the "tone" controls. I believe you need to select "tone" mode through a toggle button, then adjust with +/-.

Thanks Daniel. I'll give it a shot....
