I just got a Pronto and every time I try to teach it the IR from the remote to my Rotel RTC950AX the screen goes blank and then I get a message saying the Congiguration file is corrupted and I am forced to revert to factory settings. I have tried this about 10 times with the same resutls. I think I may have a bad unit. Has anyone else had this problem? Any assistance would be much apprecited.

Sounds like you are trying to learn from within ProntoEdit. This is known to not be all that reliable. Learn directly from your Pronto, then upload your CCF to ProntoEdit.

Also, do you have the latest firmware installed in yuor Pronto? And are using ProntoEdit 1.05?

Thanks for the Reply Peter,

I am not even using pronto edit at this point. This problem occured as I was trying to "lean" directly form the remote into the pronto. My firmware is sys v3.62 and App v4.85. Additionally, things got stranger recently. It crashed when I tried to change a lable on a button. Any further information would be helpful.

Thanks

Does it do that with any other remotes, or just the Rotel?

Thanks for the reply Daniel:

So far, just the Rotel. I was able to re-calibrate and it started accepting codes from the Rotel for a short time but then the problem occured again. It seems to do this regardless of whether the Rotel is the first I try or the last.

This is one case I would suggest learning through ProntoEdit. If it only happens with the one remote, it's more likely a bug than a defective remote.

Funny you should mention that Daniel. It is now happening with the remote for my Pioneer DV333 as well as the Rotell remote. This is truely aggravating because every time it crashes I lose all of my previous "learning" due to being forced to revert to factory settings. I am at a loss.

Any additional advice would be very helpful

You should at least be using ProntoEdit to save your set up, so you don't have to start from scratch each time.
