I have a 1 year old Yamaha Receiver, an HTR-5150. The remote has Pwr On and "Standby" buttons, which basically outputs discrete codes. Cool. However, Yamaha, has several "toggles" going on in the input section, ex. (TV/DBS, VCR, DVD) that is causing me headaches. For example, if last used in DSS mode and then the Pronto turns it on and selects that input again, it gets nudged to a different EFFECT, not a different input. I have contacted Yamaha to see if they can offer any more discrete codes. Haven't heard back yet. Any ideas? Thanks...Dave

Dave,
I have a panel that can be used for aliasing with Yamaha RX-V795 codes. I'll send it to you, see if it works.

FYI - I talked with Yamaha customer support and they told me that my HTR-5150 receiver (1 year old) is also known as a RX-V595A receiver. Apparently, they make a 2nd model for certain retailers. They also offered a service manual for $18 that has "extended" IR codes in it. I have ordered and once I get a chance to digest, if they work, I will publish them for other Yamaha owners. Also, thanks to Gary Baren for sending along discrete codes for the Yamaha RX-V795 receiver. Haven't tried them yet but will soon. Regards...Dave

I have a Yamaha receiver (RXV-795a). It has a set-up option to designated whether the receiver reverts to the last-used input mode or to one pre-specified input mode when powered on. If you can't get discrete codes, you might check to see if your model has this capability.
