Wow! What a great remote. I can't say enough good things about my new Pronto. It was very easy to program IR frequencies and a bunch of different macros. A big thanks to everyone who took the time to post their own CCF's that I used. It saved me alot of time.
Now that I've created the macros, I'd like to be able to associate them with buttons or bitmaps on my home page. It's probably something simple, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet. The only way for me to run my macros is to go to the "Macro" page and launch them there. Help!

I've not used any macros on the macro page. But I have assigned multiple I/R sends with delays between them to a button. When you have learnt a command, add a delay and then learn another command. Is this not by definition a macro ?

Anthony,
I actually programmed the macro's without using Prontoedit. Should I have been using Prontoedit to do it??

Without ProntoEdit macros can only exist on the macro pages and not on the home or device pages. If you have used pronto edit to create your home page, then you can add all those commands directly on the buttons on your home page or alias the macro buttons. If you do alias the macro buttons remember that page jumps don't work.

Anthony,
In what way do the page jumps don't work, within the macro or outside.
Mine work, however I copied the macros from the macro page and placed them on the device that I wanted macros for.
However I could not get them to work on the home page at the time, but I am going to try once more now that I am more familiar with them.

If you alias a button, and the button you are aliasing has a page jump, then that page jump will not work

In response to the users request to use macros on his home page, I found that if you turn off the protect for "Home" that macros will work just fine in the home page by placing them there with Prontoedit.
This then requires jumps to your devices to be placed in your button for those devices.
Jumps then can also be place on the macros within the home page.

To make the response clearer, the macros can be located directly in the home page, or aliased from there.
The jumps are contained in the buttons used to alias the macros.

I used the "alias" button within Prontoedit and essentially now run all of my macros from my Home page like I wanted. Thanks to all of you for your advice.
I also learned that its much easier to program digital cable channels with the "alias" button within Prontoedit then to do it from your remote. The three digit channels would never get fully learned because Pronto would time out before I finished pushing all three digits. With the alias button I could alias the first keypad number, then add a delay, and then add the next keypad number etc.

Chris, you actually cannot learn more than one IR code at a time. The only way you can do it is via aliasing.

Peter,
In the case of not learning more than one code, can you cut and paste more than one code to a button?
It may be more efficient, however I don't know how reliable since I have found that sometimes wait states seem to make things more reliable from within a macro for channel selection on my DSS.

Yes, provided you paste only one IR Code per action.
However, usually you would alias to the button containing the original code.
You would normally only copy a code if you wanted to delete the original button.
