I have noticed an issue with the Pronto IR data base frequency entry (what the data base calls the Carrier). This number is not copied directly into word 2 of the Hex pattern if the entry is selected from the data base using the IRDB tab. What appears to happen is that the nunber is adjusted based upon its magnitude. The adjustment appears to a decremnt of one for every 28 units in the carrier as specified in the IR data base. In programs I have written i have adjusted entries I place into the carrier field of the data base so that when the adjustmnent is made upon selecting the entry for the hex value, the hex value is correct. I currently adjust by multiplying the correct number by (1+(1/28)), which is pretty close to the inverse of the adjustment that appears to be made when going from the data base to the hex pattern.
Does anyone know what is going on and why Philips decided to do the adjustment of the carrier value instead of just copying it? Did their tool set that built the IR database ahve a non-linearity?
I would really like to hear from someone on the Philips Pronto development team if that is possible. Since this is a very technical issue with a highly limited audience an eMail reply would be ideal (as opposed to cluttering up the BBS).
