I have client who wants to pay me by giving me his Lexicon 700T or a Pronto. He is in the HT business, and he probably got them for free. Both remotes work and appear to be brand new (still in the box). I know a used Lexicon is worth about $1,500 (even though I can't quite figure out why), but after spending a few hours on this forum, it appears that there is a ton more support for the Pronto.
The main appeal of the Pronto is that you guys have already figured out all the tricks so that I can just build on the great ideas found in this forum.
The Lexicon is so esoteric that I haven't found any "user groups" for it.
Given this choice, and knowing that the Lexicon costs so much more, which one would you take?
Thanks.

Take the Lexicon. Then sell it in the Marketplace. Buy a Pronto and another gizmo you want.

I'm not sure what the model # was of the Lexicon that I saw recently, but it was $2500.00. Do what hoffdog suggests. Put it on E-bay, Audiogon, or audioreview.

You'll find the Lexicon INFINITELY easier to program. You'll find lots of help right here at remotecentral in the RTI theatertouch group. The program for the theatertouch is almost identical to the 700t.
Additionally, the 700t has RF options and is a much brighter and easier to read screen. Plus, it's bigger!
Give it a shot before you sell it.

I think I'd follow the advice thus given... take the Lexicon, and if you don't like it sell it for a Pronto. The Pronto may be a bit of work to program, but it's a damn good remote for the money.

Take the Lexicon, with the TCM-3 RF module. I have the Lexicon and the RF module. It is much easier to program than the Pronto, has a bigger and brighter screen, and has voltage sensing capabilities with the RF option. The Lexicon is a level up from the Pronto in sophistication. The RF option alone makes it more valuable than the Pronto. It is nice not to have to point the remote directly at the equipment. With voltage sensing capabilites, my system is set up so that I have one button switching between components. The system senses the on/off status of the two components I have without discrete codes.
