Does anybody have or even know if there is an ir eject code for my Panasonic PV-4860 VCR? There is no button however on my remote from my VCR. And the discrete code in the file archive does not work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Yes there is an eject code. If you have an OFA remote lying around you can use device code 0162, advanced code 185 to learn the eject function.
I just created this hex by editing some hex that I found in the files section, so it's not guaranteed to work but you can give it a try...

If it doesn't work, email me and I'll create it by learning from my remote.
Rob.

Here's the learned version, it looks pretty much the same

ROB Thank you for trying to help but I couldn't get either one to work. I am not sure if I am doing it right though.
What I did was learned a button/ir from the orginal VCR remote then cut and paste the hex codes.

Adam,
Yep, that's the right procedure. Thanks Rob, both these codes worked for my Panasonic PV-S7670, didn't know an eject code existed. Now if this model wasn't a TOAD....

I've always wondered why people wanted eject codes on VCRs. At best case it saves 1.5 seconds of eject time. At worst case, when you hit it accidentally, you've got to get up and stuff the tape back in. It's not like a DVD or CD player where you can just suck the tray back again.

I've never hit eject by accident. Sometimes I find it convenient as a reminder. If a tape ought to be put away somewhere safe (I have four young sons) or ought to be returned or whatever, and I'm too lazy to get up when I'm done recording or watching it, if I just leave it in the VCR I'll forget by the time I get up. If it's ejected, I'll probably notice it again when I stand up. (Yes I'm really that lazy and forgetfull while watching TV).

Daniel
I don't need to have the eject button. I was just wanting to add it to make the VCR section more complete.
