Is there any way of programming a button so that it repeats when you hold it down.
To eject the tape on my Panasonic VCR you have to hold down the stop button for 5 seconds.
When I do this on my pronto, although the icon at the top of the screen indicates that the button is repeating, it does not seem to be.

As long as you held the button down while learning, it'll repeat. I seem to recall a problem learning the Panasonic "EJECT" button though.
