Help. RC5000 not responding to PC

I can update the software on my rc5000. But I can't upload or download between my rc5000 and my pc. My pc say's com1 opened but no response from rc5000. How do I get my rc5000 to respond.

A dealer had a similar problem a few months ago. Try as we might to fix it nothing worked until he downloaded the install file for RC5000Setup again, uninstalled the first version and reinstalled from the freshly downloaded rc5000rb.exe.

I cannot explain this, it sounds impossible but you might try it. Let us know what happens.

The problem with RC5000 Setup & ProntoEdit is that there's no CRC checking in the installation program... so if you get an ever-so-slightly corrupt download, it'll merrily install bad files that don't work.

Thanks everyone for replying to my query. After a couple of hours of trying everything I finally solved the problem. When connecting the RC5000 to my PC the RC5000 needed to be at the home page then go into setup page 3 of 3. When I did this the RC5000 then comunicated with my PC. Many other peoples responses said go to the home page to comunicate but this didn't work for me.
Thanks again to everyone and hope this will help someone to.
Now I only have the hard work to do now which is deciding what to go where.
