Any opinions on buying a Pronto now or waiting for the new color edition rumored to be appearing around the Sept/Oct timeframe? I'm sure the price on the new model will be 2X the current one, but color seems too good to pass up, not to mention the possibility of RF support. Any opinions??

The color version will not be available retail until the first quarter of 2001. Back in January the price was rumored to be $799. RF seems to be one of those "on again" "off again" ideas.

Better buy now. Yesterday's hot tech business news was that Sony is jumping into the PDA market this quarter or next in a big way. The expectation is that this will greatly aggravate the already severe component shortage; the shortage that seems to limit Pronto availability now. Another month or so and Pronto's may well be even harder to get and much more expensive.
