When I try to download a CCF to the Pronto this message comes up 'INVALID FILE CONFIGURATION - Revert will restart Pronto with the original configuration.'
Uploading doesn't work either.. whether or not I choose Merge or Replace it doesnt work, saying 'File is not a valid file configuration' And on top of that, the remote's lcd freezes, & I have to remove & replace the batteries to get it going again.
I'm guessing that you need to remove the configuration you have in your Pronto in order to download a new one?? What am I doing wrong? I just got the remote about an hour ago so I don't think I could have broken it already...
I've tried updating the Pronto's firmware but it doesn't work either. A [!] comes up saying 'Filed to get valid information from Pronto'... I click ok, retry, & the same thing comes up. I click continue, reset the Pronto & the the remote won't turn on unless I remove the cable, remove & re-insert the batteries.

Well, from the sounds of it either your batteries are low, the cable is bad, your PC's serial ports are bad, or the remote is defective. There's been a LOT of talk on similar problems; I'd suggest searching the forum.

I just got my pronto and had the same problem. Somehow my file got corrupt in the pronto while I was learning ir's. After toying with the serial ports with no luck I replaced and reloaded the file and it was happy sailing after that.
