Does anyone know if the Pronto or the RC5000 is sold anywhere locally in the Kansas City, Mo area? Everyplace I've tried either doesn't stock it or has no idea what I'm talking about. Also any chain stores that carry it? I've checked Best Buy and Circuit City but no luck.

I live in Michigan and had the same luck. All I could find was the Marantz for $500.00. Check out the thread by Prontoforless. There are 70+ messages where to buy. Currently this thread is at the bottom of this page.

We are a home theater installer located in Kansas City. I can get you a new Philips Pronto for $320, complete with the PC interface. Also I highly suggest to purchase the rechargeable base stand which sells for $85.

I live in KC and haven't seen anywhere that carries a Pronto. You might try Accent Sound in downtown Overland Park for an RC5000. I've purchased Marantz gear from them in the past. I just orderd my Pronto online from http://www.onehitwonders.com. I believe it was $299 plus shipping (2 day was $10 to this area). Good luck.
