Rob,

I've also got the sony 850 dvd player (UK version). The user interface is about the worst you've ever seen. However, do I care. Nope, I've got a pronto and that cures that. I've got my entire dvd list programmed into the pronto and therefore never have to use the sony interface.

The player is pretty good. I think better than my Panasonic A310 (US model), but that's possible, because I can do RGB out on the Sony, where I only had S-VHS on the Panasonic (my TV doesn't have composite in). The sound is good too.

I'm getting close to filling my dvd player and was looking at what to do next. You can connect 2 Sony's together and that might be what I do as the Pioneers are only available with US spec.

Either way, I've a few more months to may my decision.

Andy,
I'd be interested to know the sequence of commands you use to select a title from your Pronto. I recently posted my suggestions on the DVD forum but haven't had any feedback.
