Not to be too grafic....but I had to clean up some white gewey stuff from my screen after seeing some of the codes you posted....I can't thank you enough!!!!
As for the subwoofer....I'll get back to you on that soon.

I checked on the STR-DB840, 940, DA333 and 555 and the subwoofer did not work. DVD works great and so do the VTR 1,2,3 inputs and tuners worked as well

Great to hear. Sorry to hear the Subwoofer codes didn't work. Since they're on Sony's latest remote, I wonder what exactly they're for then.

Thanks for providing the codes! The VTR ones I definitely want to check out.
Unfortunately, I can't check the subwoofer codes on my DA50ES as I do not have a subwoofer (yet) but maybe these remotes codes are meant for the Sony surround sets that are being sold at the moment.

You're right there Daniel. I'm definitely looking for Subwoofer codes for my Sony 555ES. I tried learning them, but have struggled because my PC and Home theatre are in seperate rooms.

Is the VTR3 Video 2 code supposed to make a VTR3 Sony VCR select the L2 input? It doesn't on mine (a 799, I think).
I've got the discrete code for L1, but I'm looking for the L2 discrete code. I've searched aimlessly.... any help anyone? The L1 code is listed in the Sony Discrete codes page, if that helps anyone derive the L2 code.

Sorry, Daniel... not a thing. The only luck I've had finding *anything* from Sony device code 18 that works on the unit are some odd behavior with commands 8, 15 and 32. 8 toggles the unit between 2CH Stereo and the Surround Modes list. 15 Toggles through the surround fields if you're in the list or displays the current soundfield setting if you're not in the list (?!?) and 32 toggles through Front/Center/Rear of whatever EQ setting you're currently in (Bass, Treble, Mid). We're a long way from cracking these...

As a Sony freak, I breifly owned this remote before returning it and getting a Pronto. The subwoofer code did not work on my receiver (STR-DE935). If I am remembering correctly that they are for a stand alone Sony DSP decoder and that these buttons were only on the hard-coded DSP screen.
It is unfortunate that Sony does not provide these codes in the units, even if the remotes do not access them. Maybe they will learn, someday.
