Hi, At the moment working on the use of discrete IR-codes. But.. For example the DVL-909 of Pioneer. In the downloadable files of turning the power on of the dvl-909 I discovered different IR-codes. When I learn the power on/off in the Pronto, the same. Different IR-codes!! I'am now pasting them in different buttons to check out the impact of each code, but.. There must be a logical similarity between the different codes. it's only a RC5 protocol!! Anyone knows? Thanks, Jacco

A little off topi, but someone in a previous post gave a list of things to ask for if you were ever dealing with customer service and/or engineering to find out a device's discrete codes. I cant seem to find that now (yes, I did a "search"). Anybody got a quick link for me? I've been playing email tag, trying to find out discrete info for the Sony SAT-A55 and SAT-B55.
Thx in advance, Jeff

Jacco,
Do all of the codes work? This is quite normal as there are several things that influence the learning of ir-codes (e.g. room lightning, tolerance of the emitting part of the original remote etc.) It's possible to clean learned codes up as I did with my Sony equipment using several utilities (e.g. IR-Tool, ProntoUtil) written by others (thanks guys!). Check the Files section if you need them. You may also wish to take a look at Barry Gordon's document about how the several companies make up their ir-codes (in the Files section as well).
By the way, are you sure Pioneer uses the RC5 protocol? I thought it's the protocol NEC uses...
