Tried the number in the manual and its not good. (423) 475-8869. I must get in touch with a service center to have my pronto fixed. My rechargable battery doesn't get recharged anymore on the base unit !!!

Time is ticking and every button pushed hurts

You might want to search the forum for LCD. I bet that the same number people have used to contact Philips about broken screens would work in your case. Is it your recharger, pronto, or the battery pack? If it is your battery pack, this might not be covered, I don't know.

Try this number...(888) 486-6272. Hopefully you can dial that number from whereever you are...

PS: For a short term fix, I can't think of a reason why you can't put AA's back in...
