This seems kinda odd, but I swear it is true, and wondering if anyone knows why this would happen...

I have the new Sony TiVo unit, both the original remote and the pronto will not send codes via a Xantech IR distribution system. IR codes for all other equipment works fine with the Xantech system.

Any ideas why this would happen? Any solutions for this problem?

Thanks

Harv, I'd guess it's a bandwidth problem on the Xantech unit. The newer Pronto firmware/software versions have extended the learning ferquency range upwards for Pronto so it's possible that the carrier Sony is using is beyond that which the Xantech can deal with yet still within the new range of Pronto.
I'd guess calling TIVO tech support should get you in answer on the carrier ferquency of the Sony unit. It may also be listed somewhere in the users manual.
You could also look at the hex code and calculate out the carrier frequency that way.

Thanks Jack.

I was guessing it was due to a frequency issue and the Xantech.

Surprisingly, if I use an IR COAX "Injector" that sends the IR signal Via COAX to the Multipler the codes work fine. Too bad I just bought that $125 Xantech "eye" and now have to spend another $50.00 on an 'ugly' injector, but at least it works!

Thanks again!
