My second RC5000 (first one died)occasionally has, after a random button tap, it's display turn into a jumbled mess of garbage for about 3-5 seconds. This is followed by another 3-5 seconds of a completely blank screen, then it goes into an auto reset mode and displays the "Marantz" set-up screen with system and application information. Then 2 beeps and it's back to normal till the next time it happens. Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks

Yep: when tying two codes to the hard buttons I get exactly what you're describing when I press one of the hard buttons.

That happens to my pronto. It dosent happen with the hard buttons though, it's only the ones on the screen. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know. It's quite an anoyance.

Thanks

A bit of an addition to my original post. To date this "screen garbage" has only happened with my screen buttons, not the hard buttons. The first RC5000 I had just died a slow death, losing memory functions which were unable to be programmed back in, then a power supply that hummed so loud as to be annoying from 3 feet away. In any case, this remote never displayed the "screen garbage" syndrome. The same program, unmodified and loaded into my new remote, does this about once or twice a week.
