I bought a new Marantz remote control RC-5000 (Pronto). I am very surprised to see that my Pronto has any light sensor. All pictures in the user guide show RC-5000 with light sensor (on the left upper corner).

Is it a first model ?

Thanks to all

Philippe

Just trying to sort this out... you're saying your RC5000 does NOT have the light sensor? If so, that's they way ALL new ones are. No light sensor.

Thats right! You can blame Euro Econ. Community bureucrats and ecologists. It seems that they have banned the substances required to economically manufacture such sensors in Europe. The fact that you don't have the sensor also demonstrates that yours was made this year and not last. I just received a new one (non-refurbished) with a sensor, thus showing it was manufactured last year. But you can rest assured that the sensor was of little use.
