I resently received a RC-5000 as a gift and have been trying to program it but have ended up causing myself more problems because I do'nt really know what I'm doing. All my remote says on it's screen now is, "Invalid Software version" and then it asks me to download the correct software which I have tryed to do off of the RC setup but with no luck. If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to just get my remote back to were it needs to be so that I can contiue my weak attempt at programing it.

Many Thanks
Chris

You really shouldn't switch threads like that! People are already trying to give you help in your original message.

Watch out for FRC, that is for sure. He does not like people asking the same question over (or even twice, from what I understand). Be careful.

Norm? ([email protected]) Is that you? If not, I am sorry, but too many of these similiar responses were posted by N L, and Norm, all within an hour with nobody else responding to anything, too much of a coincidence. Need to be a little more stealthy if you want to remain anonymous.

Please quit posting such items. Why reply to all the threads with the same type of non-technical answer? It is things like this that waste others times.

Chris, have you tried to look at FAQ about invalid config. error messages? Your answers should be located in the FAQ. I could not find your original post that Daniel was refering to, but I assume this was the same response in the other thread, whatever it was.

The original post was actually here: [Link: remotecentral.com] ...and it seems the problem is already solved.
