I am very pleased with my European silver pronto but I worry about its durability.I gather this "silver" is only "skin deep" and is sprayed on black plastic. My last remote was a One For All model and most of the gleaming silver exterior wore off after two years. Is the Pronto prone to this or will it last the pace?

It's actually sprayed over gray plastic, so scratches will be less visible. The Marantz RC5000 is gold sprayed over white plastic, which is a bit more noticable.
