This message was also posted on the end of another thread, but I wanted to make sure it got read so I've started a new thread.
The original thread was titled "Corrupt CCF - Pronto Is Dead - Help"

The problem is that having cancelled a CCF download, my Pronto will now not boot up at all! It just comes up with a garbage screen, waits a couple of seconds, then beeps and then reboots again. This repeats ad infinitum....... Tried removing batteries overnight to no avail. Trying to update results in the scenario below.....

I have exactly the same problem as Azazael. The problem is that you do the reset as requested, Prontoedit says "Thank You", but then it says to wait for the pronto to restart. But this does not happen and you get a message to say "Pronto did not restart properly. Do you want to retry or cancel?" Selecting retry puts you into the same loop again......

Azazael... Have you got yours working yet?????

Trust this to happen just when I had almost got all my remotes coded in!!!!

Please help, someone.

Thanks,
Ed.

I had the same thing with one of my customers remotes. No matter how long i kept it on the charger it still read only 50%. what i did to correct this was to install a new rechargeable battery pack and it has been fine for the past 2 weeks. good luck-Ed

At this moment in time I can't help, Ed, but I will say that Philips should REMOVE that "cancel" option. All it does is mess up the remote.

After leaving it for a couple of days, I just tried updating and it worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It had a bit of trouble 1st time but second attempt got it ok. I don't know what was different this time, whether I just happened to set it going at the right point to allow comms to start or whether there is something that needs to discharge over a long period of time or what. One thing is for sure, I will NOT be experimenting to find out!!!!!!!!!!

Prontoedit/Pronto is an appalling bit of software. That is such a fundamental error to cause the device to crash if you press an available button. Philips should get that sorted out. It really does not do their reputation any good.......

As an aside, a mate of mine has a Philips cordless 'phone, and the battery charge indicator on that doesn't work properly either.......................

P.S. to Ed Haller, I think you may have misunderstood my problem, but thanks for the reply anyway!
