I have a need to create a way to go back to whatever screen the Pronto was on before I jumped to the current screen. The reason I need this is as follows:

The Mute code(s) for my A/V receiver are discrete. Meaning I have a mute on and a mute off. This will not work with the single mute button on the pronto. I do not know how to make the mute button circular (on push on, next push off) So I was thinking of setting "mute" to jump to a "mute off" panel that has a "big" button in the middle labeled "Mute Off". The problem is however once I've jumped to that panel, how do I go back to the device menu I was on to begin with?

Any help on this would be appreciated.

PS. I've looked at the codes for Mute on and Mute off and see only 1 difference in the code. The second to last 4 number sequence is 0018 instead of 0030. Other than that it's identical.

There's no way to create a "last panel" button. Simply can't be done. You COULD do one of the following:

1) Put your MUTE OFF in another section (HOME/MACROS) and jump to that panel from the device menu. Then, by clicking the device menu, you return to the last panel accessed.

2) Create two panels for every one you have now. When you hit MUTE ON have it jump to the alternate panel, which can be either a full duplicate of your existing panel with merely the MUTE OFF code and a jump back to the original, or have a large MUTE OFF button which jumps back to the panel it came from. The latter would of course require many nearly identical panels with only the jump being the difference between them.

Simpler solution would be to forget trying to make the mute button toggle.

Just create two buttons on a panel - one for mute on, and the other for mute off. Then use your ears to decide which one to push.

Incidentally, how does the remote that came with the device work? Does it have 2 separate buttons?

I've never actually heard of a receiver that ONLY had discrete mute codes. What is it?

It's a Sony STR90ESG. The codes are not actualy from the original remote, but are using the Control S1 hack that Gil Diaz figured out. The codes provided as of yet have only discrete Mute modes.

Have you tried codes from different Sony equipment to see if they might work? This has worked for me in the past.

Won't work on the 90ESG. The TheaterTouch comes with codes for that model, and it just has a "mute" button... alas this doesn't help you with the Pronto. Did you try contacting Gil?

Yeah, I tried contacting Gil, he's unfortunately got the same problem ;-)

His solution was pretty much the same as mine, a jump menu to a big "Mute Off" button. Oh well that'll have to do for now. Considering where I was a few months ago this is an exponential gain and I've got nothing to complain about. A few weeks ago I would've been happy with just the ability to control the Volume.
