Crestron has come out with a small handheld remote for their systems, the MT-500C, that appears to be a rebadged ProntoPro 6000. This unit uses RF and a Crestron 418 MHz gateway antenna to talk to a Crestron system. I already have a Marantz 9200 that I would like to use for this purpose. Can it be done? Is the 6000's RF system the same as the 9200's? Does the ML-500C use the standard 6000 RF, or did Crestron modify it? Is there a CCF to bridge teh gap?

Yes there is a way to make it happen. I think that the 9200 talks at 433mhz and you would need the corresponding crestron gateway. I have been monitoring the use of said remotes with crestron and it seems that the guarded secret is the firmware and programming procedure on the crestron side for the 6000 & 9200. The 6000, if you had all of the pieces of the puzzle, is programmable via VTpro so somewhere there should be a firmware upgrade for it. There are crestron codes that you could learn into any learning remote as well as a ccf on this site which will spit out ir code that crestron will react to. Go to the crestron group on yahoo and search for this subject as it has been frequently discussed. Good Luck BTW I do not kno why they chose to use the 6000 over the 9200. To me the 9200 is vastly superior!

The only difference btw MT-500C and TSU6000 are images and epitaph on the faceplate :) [Link: remotecentral.com]
