when i first got the remote i installed the marantz software[windows 2000pro os, clone pc w/ intel p4 mb], cleared the serial port(com1) and upload/download worked well. i have since installed my palm hot-sync software and digitizer on serial port and usb(palm w/ usb adapter). i have read faq's and see that these can cause a conflict and have uninstalled all, and changed all settings back to what they were. i cannot get the software to talk to the remote, "not connected or not responding" message, no details.
anybody have any suggestions for me?

thanks, bstia

You didn't mention it, so have you tried tapping the screen just prior to communicating?

Jim is right. But what I find so much better in working is to place the remote on it's charger base. And press and hold the back light button while you click on download, and contine to hold the back light button until the download starts.

I believe that remote is too use to that. Because it will not work unless it's on the chager and I press and hold the back light button.
