Must be the effects of the solar explosions last week.
Two Marantz RC5200 units with custom programming BOTH went back to the default configuration, totally blowing away my programs. They are being used to provide handheld remote control to an AMX control system.
I thought that I had deleted the factory default config so there would be nothing to default back to. What did I do wrong?
The units were set so that access to the programming mode was locked out (write protected)
Seems very strange that 2 units would do the same thing at the same time.
Also - does upgrading flash blow away current programming?
Any comments/suggestions. How do I delete ALL of the factory configs.

You can not delete the factory ccf. However, with Pronto Edit, or Touch Screen Setup you can replace the ccf with your own. Just as long the ccf isn't too big. With this you can "revert" your remotes to your own ccf.
In order to do this, you need to download ProntoINI workshop located in the file section. Once you download that, click on the button for "developer mode".
Restart PE/TSS, if you have it open already. Then open your ccf, go to system properties and click on "ccf is 'factory' default"
When reflashing firmware, it is possible for the remote revert back to the "factory" ccf. The firmware contains the factory ccf, which is most likely why they went back to the factory ccf.

Thanks Rob...
That appears to be most helpful. I will make the change and then try to load it into the clients HH unit.
Too bad the manufacturers don't make these things available in the first place! Why hide useful features?
Cheers!

The reason why they hid it, at least in my opinion. Was the because if the ccf is too large, it can "kill" the remote. We know how to make it work if it does die. However, the genral public, such as yourself until now, knows how to do it.
