Hi,
I own a Velleman 1 Channel IR Kit model K6708 to control my home curtains. I cannot seem to learn the Marantz RC-5200 with the kit's remote. In the file section here there's only a different kit.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Idan

google. I looked up velleman just now, and found an article [Link: dvdfile.com]where the guy says his marantz remote learned the velleman codes. Maybe you can locate the mfr and see what's what.

Thanks Ernie. I noted that this guy has an RC-2000. Is there a difference? I mean, can it be that the RC-2000 can learn it but the RC-5200 can't?
Another question: What's mfr?
Thanks again, Idan

Some other Velleman kit use RECS80 code and RECS80 are toggle-bit codes. Do you know what chip your kit are using.
Can you paste what your remote learned, or did it not learn anuthing?

I had no luck learning this code at all. I don't think it's a true IR remote signal that the pronto will understand. Yes it's IR at 38Khz, but it's not RC5 or anything similar.
So I abandoned this and built the Velleman 15 way IR kit, probably a bit more than your require for your blinds.
What about X10 and and IR to X10 converter?

Hi haav,
My kit is using chip UM3758-120A. The RC-5200 couldn't learn the code at all. I get the fail buzz sound.
Craig, X10 is a different remote?
Thanks Idan

I control my blinds using X10 and an IR543 (IR to X10) converter. The pronto sends an X10 code via IR, the 543 converts it to X10 protocol, an appliance switch opens and closes the blinds, 4 second momentary power up of the motor is enough to open or close the blinds.
The blind motor has end stops so it cuts out when it has closed or opened the blinds.

mfr is short for manufacturer. Sorry I was not clear. It was late and I cheated.

I actually e-mailed velleman on Sunday and still didn't receive a reply...
As for X10, I think I'll stick with the current configuration since I can't afford more money spent on just opening/closing the blinds...
If anyone has another suggestion I'll be happy to listen.
Thanks for all your help anyway, Idan
