I have some secondhand kit that I have no remotes for.

I have been using some of the in built database codes but certain functions I can't get, IE tv station tuning time setting etc etc. Some, I can not even get the basic functions.

The devices are:
PYE TV portable M1432/25
Kenwood Reciever amp KR-A46
Marantz VCD500 video CD player
Daewoo TV /Video combined unit GB20F8T2

Any or some likely working codes would be good. I had thought of using one of the IR utilities to create the complete set of codes per device, but I had heard that this can be quite risky as you have the chance of sending service codes and ***** the whole system, Is this so?

Cheers

did you try the file section on this site?

yes, it is possible, but extremely unlikely. It is not as if manufacturers add auto destruct sequences on purpose. Most of the time it is like a specialized setup code that could mess up something, or put it in a particular mode that you don't know how to get out of it, also they tend to exist more on TVs (i.e. like convergence)

I had a brief look and did a few searches in the file section, but....I am actually going to use the HEX in an iPAQ 5450 with TV remote controller from PDAwin, or possibly a Pronto Pro. The file search engine does not allow for searching ALL of the file archive, only for specific remote models with different ccf setups. With 8 model groups and 4 devices I would need to do 32 seperate searches, just a pain, I thought I would post a direct question and do the searches if nothing comes up.

not sure what you mean, and it does not matter if it is for a PDA (I think they can use the IR codes in the files, or else you are asking in the wrong place :-) )

go to
[Link: remotecentral.com]

then you click on the manufacturer, then the type of device and then the file. It is MUCH faster then waiting around.

Yes, there is probably enough there to keep me looking for a while:))

I was hoping to search the file areas for ALL remote types, as listed [Link: remotecentral.com]

I have managed to get some working hex codes out of a Maxview 2 in 1, by learning into the PDA. But using IR tool it shows it as a invalid hex code.

Cheers

Yes, the PDA using PDAWin TV remote controller uses ccf files from Pronto Edit/Tonto
