I think I may have just run into an old glitch in PE that I never noticed before.
I have some icons that I want to label. I do not want the labels to show. When I type in a name, I duly note that the font window says "no font chosen" or whatever the phrase is, but when I go look at the panel, the text appears!
If I go back, assign a font size, then reassign no font, there is no font when I go look at the panel.
Is this an old "feature" of ProntoEdit that I have never noticed and they have never fixed? I vaguely remember seeing something like this before but I never pursued it till I understood how it worked.

Hum don't remember that glitch. Of course, if you use a labeled icon for your button image, then the text would always show.

Haven't heard of that one before. Are you using ProntoEdit V4.05?

Under FONT it should show, exactly, <none> - otherwise, I've never heard of this issue.

Sounds like you dont have all your fonts enabled in your registry.
By Default, Prontos can handle 8,10,12,14,16,and 18 font size, but only 10,12,an 14 are enabled in the system registry on install. (not exactly sure I have the sizes 100% correct, but you get the idea....)
I see this happen when I import a button from another CCF and I happen to have not made the Registry edit on a machine.
In a nutshell....
The Text is set to Font Size 14, but since you dont have Font 14 enabled, it reads in your drop down list. ProntoEdit still knows what Font size 14 is even though its not enabled so you get the text.
Enable all your Font sizes and the issue should go away.

Impaqt, I read what you wrote and I have no idea what you mean. However -- I am using PE 4.05. I can use font size 10, 14 and 18, and I'm ok with that. So I guess they are enabled. I did some more work late last night and this issue did not appear. Maybe it only happens with buttons that have commands on them; the ones I made tonight had no commands and the text did not show up.
And Impaqt, per your example, no, the text is not set to 14; the text has just been freshly entered forthe first time, is in the box, and no font has ever been chosen. The button is an artwork, so I have no need for a visible label. I only want to label it so I know which button is which when I alias to it.

Since your only seeing 10,14,and 18, you do not have all the availble fonts enabled. so My assesment is probobly correct. There is a registry hack to enable the extra 3 font sizez, but I belive you can also turn them on or off with the Pronto.ini Workshop available in the files section.
My "14" example was just that, an example, I dont have all the default font sizes memorized fo I was guessing there.
The thing is that the original button was probobly created with a FontSize of lets say "12" when you imported the button, even if there was no text there, ProntoEdit saw the "12" on the button, but since your version of ProntoEdit doents allow you to use 12, it shows up in the properties tab as
Is this a bug? Probobly..... But the fix is available in the registry.
I hope that clears it up.....
If Pronto.INI wont allow the font changes, email me and I;ll give you the registry hack..... I dont feel comftorable posting it on a public forum as messing with your registry is NOT a task for a novice...

Easist thing to do is use Daniels Pronto.Ini Workshop in the files area to enable the extra fonts. It's available here: [Link: remotecentral.com]. The additional font sizes are 8, 12, and 16. See here for more info: [Link: remotecentral.com]. Jim L
