1) make sure it is a bmp file
2) make sure you save it in 256 or less colours
3) make sure the image is not larger then the screen

also, it would help us if you say what error you get.

If you are trying to get the buttons to appear over the image without white boxes around them then it requires a lot of work. You have to import your image into a program such as PaintShop Pro, Photoshop, or Corel. Then lay your button bitmaps over that image in seperate layers exactly where you want them on the remote. Next, you want to erase around the buttons so it shows the image behind. Then, crop around each button, convert to 256 colors, and save each. Then convert the image of the plane to 256 colors and save. All you do now is import it all to the pronto and place the images where they go. Unless you are familiar with the imaging software it can be a pain. If anyone knows an easier way, I'm all ears since this is how I always do it.

Simpler way is to upgrade to a 3000 or 7000 which supports transparency.

what are you refering to when you mentioned upgading to the 3000 or 7000. I am using the Marantz 9200, and have just never tried to do that before. Thank you for any info regarding this.

malcolm81230,

Peter is making reference to the new remote control Pronto NG TSU3000 (16 shades of grey) and Pronto NG TSU7000 (color version). The Pronto NG sftware editor supports transparency.

No, the 9200 has NEVER supported transparency. You will have to do image compositing and slicing to achieve your end result.
