I have a TS1000 remote and recently it has stopped working. The screen seems to have stopped working, the light will not come on and nothing appears on the screen after touching it. I have reset it a few times and the hard buttons light up and it beeps 4 times but the screen never turns on. Does this mean I have a bad screen that needs replacement? If so, where can I get a replacement screen?

Thanks

Andy

The four beeps tells me that your remote is in a state known as "dead"

As for the screen, it should be fine. What you need to do is up date the firmware. Even though you have the latest in there already. It may take a few times, or more to get it to work.

So my advice is to update the firmware again.

what do you mean by "dead"? this doesnt mean that it cannot be fixed correct? also, as far as the firmware update goes, how do you do that? I have never done this before so it is all new to me. I tried hooking the pronto up to my computer earlier and it said that the pronto was not responding, anyway to get around this?

Thanks

A6-03 What can I do if the remote will not power up and I hear 4 beeps?
This usually indicates that the CCF file is corrupt. To correct this you can try downloading your file again from ProntoEdit. Otherwise, you must re-flash the firmware using the TOOLS | UPDATE PRONTO menu option in ProntoEdit (or TOOLS | UPDATE RC5000 in RC5000 Setup) while the remote is connected to your PC.
You may experience this problem without ever having connected the remote to your computer. The solution is still the same: you must update your remote via the PC software.

I got this from the FAQ's. There you can find other useful tips and tricks.
