I have tried using the search engine and get way too many hits...

I have the IR encoding schematic/spec from Panasonic for their newer plasma displays. I can figure out *their* encodings, but how do I map that to a Pronto encoding?

Example from schematic:
Power Toggle = 2002 0080 003D

The carrier is 36.7Khz.

I've tried reading the docs I could find but they focus on interpreting existing Pronto codes...not what I need to do.

BTW: these will be the Panasonic codes for the TH-50PHD6 series displays...

You should use the MakeHex program to create Pronto Hex for those.
You can get MakeHex at
[Link: remotecentral.com]

In MakeHex terminology, that is Panasonic protocol, device 128.0, command 61.

The "3D" you specified is the command. The "80" is the 128. I'm not certain which "0" in what you showed is the ".0" from MakeHex point of view. Most of the functions will be device 128.0, but I expect some will be 128.1 or other 128.? values.

There are lots of CCF files here at RC for Panasonic TV's and Plasma displays. They all use roughly the same command set, so you could get the codes from one of those CCF files rather than constructing them with MakeHex.

That power toggle command is
0000 0070 0000 0032 0080 0040 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0ACE

To generate all 256 possible commands in 128.0, edit the panasonic.irp file from the MakeHex zip, so the first line says
Device=128.0
Then drag the icon for panasonic.irp and drop it on the icon for makehex.exe
That will create a panasonic.hex file with the pronto hex for all 256 commands.
For 12.1 etc. edit panasonic.irp again and drag/drop again (after saving any commands you needed fro the first panasonic.hex file).

5andamp5ux,

If you email me (address in my profile) the pdf file or a copy of the original document, I'll be glad to generate all the codes that it contains in Pronto hex. I am always interested in seeing the official commands to see if there is anything new. If I see all the commands, I can probably solve the ambiguity in the sub-device.

There is also a long thread here on finding commands for the Panasonic Plasma displays:
