I'm sure this issue has been discussed here before but I can't seen to find the propper thread.

I've got a sony cx985 (400dvd player) that starts to play the last movie viewed every time It gets powered up. Sorry to dig this issue up again but can anyone point me toward a solution or workaround?

Thanks

There is no workaround to this that I know of. I have the same unit and haven't been able to figure it out. You would get more input if you posted this in the DVD forum though.

I discussed this issue @ length with a Sony Tech earlier on for the 860. Autoplay can only be disabled if disc is an audio disc. The reason I was given was a restriction/contract agreement with the DVD industry. It really sucks.

Many people leave the players on for exactly this reason. You might call Sony Support but I don't think you'll get much assistance.
