I have a TSU 2000 that I have been using for a few years. Now my battery won't charge and before I replace it I am trying to upoad from my Pronto to my computer. I have a new computer now and have Pronto Edit installed, but it gives me the message, "Pronto not connected, or not responding". It has been a while since I have worked with my Pronto so I don't know what I could be doing wrong. I operate on an XP computer.

Additionally, I have tried tapping the screen, I have tried to reconfigure my COM Port, to Com 1 - IRQ 4 and Com 2 - IRQ 3, but can't get it to work. When I tried to update my firmware, it says "There are no COM Ports installed on your machine".

It may not be a comm port problem. Since your batteries dead, you could try putting in regular batteries in the interim to see if it'll communicate. Jim L

My battery isn't dead. It will still work, but the battery is low and will not fully charge.

Dead, low there's no difference when tring to communicate to the pc.
When ever the low battery sign is on the screen, communication between the pc and the remote is slim, if there at all.
Best suggestion is what Jim said. Put regular AA batteries in there. YOU will NOT lose your ccf, it has a flash memory. As a matter of fact, the clock will even keep it's time. I've tested it with the batteries out for hours, and it kept the time. Sure it might of been a minute or two off, but it kept it.

rodesss, If you still have the battery tray that came with your Pronto, just try putting new AA batteries in and uploading. Removing the batteries won't cause you to lose your CCF, so don't worry about that.

Thanks for the good advise. I put AAs in the remote is working fine. When I tried to upload, it still says, "RC device not connected or not responding". I tried to update my firmware again. I got further this time. A screen pops up and tells me to press the devices reset button. I press the button, the device resets, but the program just stays there on the "Firmware Update" screen that says to press the reset button. There seems to be some communication at least.

Several times!!! I think I have an interupt problem. With my luck on trying to fix computer problems, throwing the remote might be more safe than trying to reconfigure my computer.
