Today my wife accidently dropped our Pronto TSU-1000 into a cup full of Big Red. I quickly got it out and took the batteries out, let it dry and then tested it tonight. Well, everything seens to work but the controls are a little screwy. Some buttons do what they are supposed to but others just do the wrong thing. Like if I hit TV it turns on the DVD player. I tried to do a reset and re-upload of the controls but that didn't help. Is there anything I can do other than tossing it in the trash? Let me know. Thanks.
p.s. Anyone know how much do they charge to fix it if I send it in?

Big Red?
Anyway.... Sounds bad.... Did you try recalibrating the screen? That would be first on my list... Second, Full dissasembly and cleaning would be next... Then purchase a refurb.. A Referb would probobly be less than getting that one repaired.

And download a fresh copy of the firmware.
Some people have had success with properly cleaning it after similar accidents. You might try searching for their posts.

Press and hold on the "pronto" at the top center of the screen. This will get you into set up mode.
Scroll down to page two. There is a button labled calibration.
After you press the button. The pronto will tell you to touch the top left corner. Then it will tell you to touch the buttom right corner.
When you calibrate the screen. You must use a blunt pointy object. Like a toothpick. Or if your willing to, a ball point pen.

Visit the best hardware store you can find and buy a security Torx wrench and take the unit apart carefully. You will most likely have to disconnect the screen. I suggest looking at the posts on this board for doing such as details are there for taking apart the unit.
Next, clean the unit's circuit boards, especially underneath any rubber switches with distilled water. Let it dry thoroughly prior to reassembly.
This has been discussed here before but I thought I'd reiterate.
