Guys I have a fair bit of experience with Pronto Edit so I know my way around the program. I'm having a problem with a refurb TS1000. The first time I tried to download a ccf there was no problem. When I cam back to download a new ccf the Pronto would not connect and gave the message "connected to com port but no reply from RC device" I called Phillips and they recommended I update the firmware so I did. At the end of the firmware update process I got the message "unable to find boot log sector XXX" I tried the remote again anyways and was able to download a couple more times. On the 3rd (I think) attempt I again got the message. "connected to com port but no reply from RC device" So I tried a few more times with no joy. Reloaded firmware again and got message "unable to find boot log sector XXX" I have not been able to connect since then. I am suspectiong the connector inside the Pronto that the little interface cable connects to since it did work for a while and themcable works fine with my other pronto. Maybe the pins are not making proper contact. Does anyone know where to get this thing serviced in Winnipeg Canada or have any other ideas as to the problem?

Since you didn't mentioned that you tapped the screen to turn it on. You may want to try that first. With all of your prontos. Tapping the screen before down or upload does help connection.
