Hi Dwg,

I have an AVR 2700 w/an RC-820. An idea if the 5803 codes will work with it. I haven't been able to find IR codes for the 2700.

Thanks,
Paul

Paul,

Given the age of that receiver(1998) I doubt it has any codes not contained on the remote, perhaps with the exception of discrete On and Off. The 5803 codes should work fine for what the 2700 will except. Won't hurt to try them. If none work, please post the hex code for a function say power toggle from the 2700 so I decipher.

The Denon web site has pdf files of IR remote codes for many not all of their equipment- [Link: usa.denon.com]. The 1802 is not on the site but the 1803 is for example. The 5803 codes will work for the 1802.[Link: remotecentral.com] The only missing codes may be Video Game, Virtual, Cinema Mode and Music Mode which are Device 4 function 136,137,149 and 150 as posted above.

Hi,

Can't get those code to work at all with the AVR-1802 :(

Here is an example of a learned code from my Denon remote (Tuner):

0000 006D 0020 0010 000A 001E 000A 0047 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0047 000A 001E 000A 0047 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0047 000A 0047 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 06C0 000A 001E 000A 0047 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0047 000A 001E 000A 0047 000A 0047 000A 0047 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0047 000A 0047 000A 06C0 000A 001E 000A 0047 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0047 000A 001E 000A 0047 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0047 000A 0047 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 06C0

Here is a Zone 1 Tuner code from the Denon5803Codec2K:

0000 006D 0020 0000 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 06D5 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 0000

I have tried other codes too.

This sucks that I won't be able to do single button presses and select different sound options.

Any ideas?

Hinke,
The learned code you posted is a standard Denon code, device 2 function 197 although your learned code is not clean and has a repeat section that is not necessary. Device 2 function 197 is also Tuner in the 5803 code set as expected so if the 1802 does not respond to the discrete commands then I'd say it does not have the capability. You could fashion a macro if there is a way to have/get the toggle to a known state.

I'll give it another try, by merging the ccf file with my file. Then I can push and test the buttons and see if they work. Tedious to copy and then transfer the file to the Pronto. If it still does not work I have to rely on Macro's.

Thanks.

Hi again,

The Denon AVR-1802 does not respond to discrete codes :(

I just have to accept that fact and either use macro's or just push the button several times.

Not even my Philips TV accept discrete codes.

Next time I buy a TV or receiver I will make sure they can handle discrete codes.

Thanks for the help.

Hinke,

Did the 1802 at least respond to discrete on and discrete off ?

The remote for the AVR-1802 already has an on button and a off button. They must be discrete since I can't turn the receiver off with the on button. Is it those codes you are talking about?
