My 1000's back light is permanently on now. I've fiddled with the config settings to change the timeout around, just to see if I could get it un-stuck... but no luck.

Anybody have any ideas of what to try? Or reasons why this might be happening?

Thanks,
Jeff

try resetting, leaving the batteries out overnight and/or reflashing the firmware.

This happens to me when I try to use the lcd part of the remote while a "Timer" is running.

The fix it is what star said above. Take battery pack out for a few seconds, then replace. Or press the reset button on the back of the remote.

what do you mean by permanently on? when the display is showing, or even when it is blank?

if 1) then I would think it is hardware (i.e. back light button stuck)

if 2) then that is normal if you have set the light to turn on automatically.

Anthony, read my post above yours.

Lets say I have an everyday timer to do something at 2pm. In which case I am home and possibly using the remote. If I am using the remote on the display, then the clock strikes 2pm. Then the remote goes into a "lock down" mode. Where I can't use the remote while the timer is running. And when the timer is done. The screen that I was using is now on. On until I take the batteries out, or do a resest. I've tested this out once. And it will not turn off, even after hours of it being on.

Rob, I never knew that before your previous post. I just added a couple of other possibilities

BTW, pulling the battery pack did the trick.

Thanks,
Jeff

I too have this problem with timers. Trouble is, I have one firing every 10 mins to get rid of the damn annoying "press the interactive button" rubbish the put on nearly every prog these days. If you use the light, that sticks on, otherwise the display sticks on.

Is there any fix for this other than to pull the batteries?

Bob
