Hi,
I have a strange request: could someone with two prontos please help me and do the following:
send with one pronto the code:
5000 0000 0000 0002 0005 003f 000a 0000
and learn it with the other pronto, and send me (or post) the hex code of the learned code.

Why am I asking this?
The code is from the default 890-ccf, and it is sent to the VCR when the VCR device is selected. My VCR suffers badly from the toggle-bit problem. However sending this code before each command solves all toggle bit problems!

OK, so why do I need the learned version?
Because the ccftools compiler/decompiler suite breaks the code. If you decompile and compile, some other code gets sent, and my VCR has the toggle problem again. I submitted a change request to Olivier already.

My current workaround is to manually paste the correct code over the corrupted one after each decompilation, which gets very tiring.

Please followup or reply to [email protected]
Thanks VERY much!

Maarten

Here's what I did. I copied the ir cod which you have above. Clicked on Set Ir, and pasted the ir code. Clicked on OK and it came up as a RC5 5 63 code. Which the pronto can read.

So I downloaded it to the pronto. And learned it to one of my learning remotes that came with my system. Then turned around and learned it back in to the pronto.

Uploaded the ccf to PE, opened up where I learned the button and it came up with this ir code.

5000 0073 0000 0001 0005 003f

In which case when ever I learned an ir code myself. It never looked like that, that to me is too short. So hopefully it will work.

Rob,

thanks for going through the trouble.
It seems that the pronto recognizes it as an RC5 code, and doesn't use the "learned" format which should start with 0000.
The code looks indeed too short. Anyway, I'm going to try if this code also solves the VCR-toggle problem.

I'm still curious what the result would be with 2 prontos, since your other learning remote may learn differently than a pronto.

Thanks again,
Maarten

It was no problem at all.

Also you have to realize that even if there were two prontos used. The ir code can and will come up different when it's learned more than once. Something has to be different between two learned buttons.
