Here's one for the experts...
I'm trying to name a button with a bitmap background... When I insert a single symbol or character from the menu it goes in okay, but as soon as I try to put a character (letter) then a symbol, only the first letter dispalys on the Pronto...
Wierd thing is, it works fine on the emulator..?
What's going on..?

Which model remote? For Pronto's, the 1000/2000's don't support symbols for all font sizes (specifically, not sizes 8, 12, and 16). As I remember, they will show up on the emulator, but not the remote. Jim L

Simon, I guess the answer is "because" ;-) I suppose they never intended the additional fonts to be used since we have to "turn them on". In the 6000 and the newer Marantz's, the symbols are available with all font sizes. Jim L

SimonO, the Pronto does not use true type fonts, it actually has every symbol and letter in each size in the firmware. so the more stuff they add the more place it takes. Like Jim said, the Prontos contained any letter in the 6 sizes and symbols in 3 sizes, and on PE 1 and 2 you needed to manually add the other sizes to the list. The ProntoPro has 6 sizes of symbols and letters, so in PE 4 they made all the sizes show up.
PS the emulator uses the truetype fonts on your PC, so you could even tell it to show wingdings, but they will not work on the Pronto since it does not have those characters.
