This may sound an easy question but I'm struggling. Having created a nice "Lights" panel I would like to help other users of my remote to use this lights panel. I've created another panel in my "Lights Device" and using a series of buttons created nice matching "text only buttons" with a "back" button to my main lights panel. However after saving this in "Touch Screen Setup" my Marantz RC5200 does not recognise this help panel and the "help" button inserted in my lights panel is also not recognised.
I know I am doing something wrong - could someone tell me how to go about creating nice help panels please?

Not recognized?? You can't jump to a panel unless it has at least one button on it, and that button must have an action (at least a delay). If you've created a help panel, stick a button on it with a delay, and then hide it behind something else on the panel. As far as your button goes, again - does this button have at least a delay on it? Just a jump doesn't count. Jim L

Whether a Button actually does something or is used only for text, it must have something in it's Action List to be seen in Use Mode on the remote. A Default Delay works well. Alternately you could use Frames for text only messages. Click on the links in the box below, in particular you will find : the FAQ, Reviews, Play With It, Phases, Planning and ALIAS.CCF helpful when just starting out.
And remember when you ask questions to be specific in your Heading and very specific in your question, including precisely what your problem/question is and what model Remote you have and what OS you are using on your PC.
Also, don't forget the Search Forum at the bottom of the Page. It may seem slow but it is VERY thourough and don't be mislead by the "0%" you will see on the first screen, it is only a progress marker.
(originally configured by MrKlaatu).

Nope.
The Marantz is not seeing the help panel. I may have confused in that this is made up of frames with text in them with a button which includes a jump back to the main lights panel. In the lights panel I've created a button which includes a jump to the help panel.
In each of these buttons I've experimented with delays, but nothing seems to work. The panel itself is simply not being seen/recognised. When I go to the lights panel the Remote only shows 1 panel so it can't jump to something it cannot see. It does not show the button either.
I've been successful in creating many panels before but this one is doing my head in - any more ideas please?

Rozel, Send me the ccf, my address is in my profile, I'll have a look if you want. Just make sure to tell me what the name of panel in question is. Jim L

While you're at it, send it to the King of Typos, too. He likes to look at CCFs.

Paul, there seems to be some problems with your back button, and since it is the only active button, the panel thinks it does not have any active buttons. try deleting the back button and then creating a new one

I sent your's back, it works on the emulator now. The "back" button on the help panel was a child of a blank frame. I.e. pasted onto a frame which was the same size, with no name and no font. This causes problems obviously but isn't documented anywhere that I know of except in old posts on this board. Edit: By the way, I was wrong in my initial response. It is a Marantz (I was thinking Pronto). Jumps are a part of the action list, and no delays would be needed if you have a jump. Jim L This message was edited by bomberjim on 03/03/03 16:54.
