Hello. I am trying to copy a bitmap from one button to another in pronto edit. I use the hold down alt then drag the button over method. Once I do this, a grey square the size of the bitmap appears but the bitmap doesn't. If i click on the properties of the button, it shows the different states of the button. Am I doing something wrong?. How do I make it so I can see the bitmap? Any other ways to copy just the bitmap onto another button?
Just for interest, the button I want to copy is one of the VCR buttons in the IR section of Dale's Easy Theater CCF. The button icon has a name typed in it.
Thanks for all of your help. Craig

Does it have an action associated with it? I think buttons are greyed out if no actions are associated with it. Even a Delay will work.

Mind_Flayer is correct, add an action. Additionally, if you have both an active and inactive bitmap on a button, they need to be the same size. If they're not, the button will be sized to the smaller bitmap, cutting off some of the larger. Jim L

The button does have an action attached to it. What I mean is that you can't even see the bitmap.
I'll explain a little better.
I make a new button which shows up as a grey square with nothing in it. Then I copy the bitmap. The button now changes to the size of the bitmap but no bitmap is visable, just a grey square (like when I first created the button). It has the same button properties as the one copied but no bitmap is visable.
I have had buttons that are greyed oput because of no action list so I know what you are talking about but that is not the problem. The button is there but you cannot see the bitmap. Thanks again for your help.

Craig, Strange, how are you copying the bitmap, from another button, loading it from your hard drive? After you copy it, when you double click on the button and select the icon tab, does it show up in there? Jim L

I am copying it from another button within the same panel. I press alt, then click and drag the bitmap over to my newly created button. When I look at the icon properties it shows the buttons two states, (selected active and unselected active), just like the one I copied it from. Only I can't see the bitmap I just copied. Any wisdom?. Thanks.

there are four places for icons
active = button has action inactive = button does not have an action ---- selected = button is pressed / running action unselected = most of the time ------
the most important state is active unselected, since tht is what you see most of the time.
