As detailed elsewhere on this forum, I recently get one of the refurbed TS-1000 Pronto remotes from Philips. It was DOA with a non-functional screen. I returned to to them and they called this morning to say that they were shipping a replacement, but would it be OK if they substituted a 2000 in it's place. Naturally, I refused!! :-)) Now, if this one is dead, maybe I'll get a Pro next time.

Thank you Philips.

Craig

They probably don't have a choice, there aren't enough refurbished TS-1000 to fulfill all their original orders right now. I called yesterday to get a status on my order (Feb. 13th) since others who ordered that day received their remotes last week.

The csr I talked to said they had a backlog of orders for the refurbs and that a supply shipment that was supposed to arrive last week was still not at the distribution warehouse. I'm now becoming skeptical that my birthday present will arrive in time...

The csr was nice and had a lot of good info, so I can't say the service was bad. But considering there were still over 50 refurbs in stock (according to phillips website) and several days later they took more orders, I'm a bit annoyed that they are so short of stock now. An email explaining the backorder situation would have helped also, their website still just states "approved".

Maybe I should just hope they send me a DOA pronto, so that they can replace it with a 2000. Right now I'm somewhat scared phillips will just cancel all the extra orders.

Do they send you a replacement first or do you have to ship your unit to them first? My ProntoPro is still under warranty and there is a rattling sound inside but it still works so I am not sure if I should send it in. Not sure I could last without my ProntoPro for a week or more!

Thanks!

i'm also waiting for my refurb ts1000 order placed on 2/13. my order is still in the "approved" state. the people on the phone are very nice, but don't have any useful info. i agree an email would have been nice. the only info i have is because i called.

i am very sorry that i ordered from philips. if i had ordered from somewhere else i would probably have my pronto now. yes, i got a good price from philips, but i would have ordered from somwehere else had i know it would take 3 or more weeks to arrive.

Mind_Flayer, there is supposed to be a rattling sound inside a Pro - that's the motion sensor.

I don't think it should be this loud. It sounds like something is loose and moving around in there. And it was not like that the past several months.

They double shipped my order, and both units worked. I guess I should be twice as happy.
